Are you game?

Why is it that it is so difficult for most of us to take our place into the world? The conditions of our birth and early childhood experiences have a long lasting impact on our behaviours, directing and often feeding our addictions to the experiences or thoughts that sadly make us most unhappy!

The natural response is to aim at protecting ourselves from suffering, thinking that the pain comes from outside circomstances and that we have to shrink and make ourselves small in order to be spared. This belief is actually what hurts us the most. It makes us angry and fearful to not leave up to our expectations.

Isn't time to relax and to know that what we are trying to control, our light, which takes the form of our desires, our dreams is exactly what we have to follow? This is the guidance we are waiting for.

It just requires to step into the unknown.

And it doesn't have to be scary. it doesnt mean having to jump into the precipice. It just means following what gives us energy, what makes us tick, what is pleasurable and enjoyable.

This living life creatively would have to be the best healing for the body, mind and soul that one could ask for.

Marianne Williamson in her book a Return to Love, describes this state of being so well.

What we are most afraid of, is our light!

“Our deepest fear is not that we are inadequate.

Our deepest fear is that we are powerful beyond measure.

It is our light, not our darkness that most frightens us.

We ask ourselves, Who am I to be brilliant, gorgeous, talented, fabulous?

Actually, who are you not to be? You are a child of God.

Your playing small does not serve the world.

There is nothing enlightened about shrinking so that other people won't feel insecure around you.

We are all meant to shine, as children do.

We were born to make manifest the glory of God that is within us.

It's not just in some of us; it's in everyone.

And as we let our own light shine, we unconsciously give other people permission to do the same.

As we are liberated from our own fear, our presence automatically liberates others.”

This inspiring quote by Marianne Williamson is from her book, A Return To Love: Reflections on the Principles of A Course in Miracles, Harper Collins, 1992. From Chapter 7, Section 3 (Pg. 190-191).
